All canvas webbing should be of khaki color unless otherwise noted. Helmets should be the WWII M-1 pattern with sewn-on khaki web chinstrap, either with fixed chinstrap bales or swivel bales. Helmets made post-1950, and/or with clip on chinstraps are not acceptable. Helmets may be marked with the 29th Div. emblem on the front (recommended but not required). NCO's should mark the back of their helmet with a white horizontal bar approximately 3 inches long by 1 inch tall. Officers should mark the back or their helmet with a white vertical stripe approximately 1 inch wide by 3 inches tall.

1 Helmet, M- 1, w/liner. Helmet should have a WWII appropriate color, finish (often described as being like sandpaper). The liner should also be of WWII vintage (notice the inside straps are khaki, not OD like later models).
